Our commitment to sustainability means taking actions that create shared value with our many stakeholders – empowering people to achieve more, contributing to progress in our communities, and protecting the environment we all share. We value open dialogue with all our stakeholders, from employees and communities, to business partners, customers, governments and shareholders. Through ongoing engagement with stakeholders, we seek first to listen and then to incorporate feedback into our approach to sustainability and how we operate our business.
This commitment extends to every community in which we operate: understanding needs and concerns; creating opportunity and providing support through grants and volunteerism; and striving to be the best neighbor we can be. In the region surrounding our Martinez facility we have been a long-time supporter of nonprofit organizations that help our neighbors and make the community better in so many ways. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with our community. Below are some of the organizations we support through donations and the generosity of our employees who volunteer their time to help.
One of our recent community investments
Marathon’s Martinez Renewable Fuels facility has contributed almost $100,000 to the Diablo Valley College’s Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Department. This contribution helped purchase advanced equipment and supported the FastTRAX Engineering Technology Career Academy during summer 2021. Watch the video for more!
